Farmworkers Get Vaccinated Across NC

March 29, 2021 by Kristina Morris

Local vaccination teams are hard at work in counties across North Carolina to make sure farmworkers have access to COVID-19 vaccinations. Read more about the Vaccination Plan for Farmworkers. Below is a compilation of news pieces highlighting just some of these efforts.

About 100 seasonal and migrant workers received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at a recent event at Western Carolina University in partnership with Vecinos. ABC13 covered the story.

According to the N.C. Farm Bureau, “Now that farmworkers are eligible for the vaccine, farmers are making every effort to ensure their workers have the opportunity to roll up their sleeves.” Here’s an example from Nash County of what some farmers are doing, with the help of local teams, to help farmworkers get vaccinated.

Folks in Wayne County, North Carolina, are also working to make sure all farmworkers have access to vaccines.
