Our mission is to improve the health of migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families by providing funding, training, and technical assistance to a statewide network of outreach and health care providers.
We envision a comprehensive network of health care professionals that provides culturally appropriate and accessible health services, empowering farmworkers and their families to live healthy lives as valued members of informed and inclusive communities. Watch our new Cultivating Care video


Our Program

We are a statewide Migrant Health Voucher Program within the NC Office of Rural Health. As opposed to a free-standing health center, NCFHP works with local agencies to respond to gaps in health care that would otherwise prevent farmworkers from accessing needed care.

Who We Fund

We contract with local agencies throughout North Carolina to increase access to primary and preventive health care and dental services for farmworkers and their families. NCFHP also supports special initiatives with community and healthcare partners to respond to farmworkers’ unique needs.

Why We Do It

Farm labor is one of the top three most dangerous occupations in the United States. Farmworkers face hazards in the fields and serious threats to their physical and mental health, while experiencing multiple barriers to accessing care.
